Pjanic extends Juventus contract to 2023

Miralem Pjanic has signed a new five-year contract to commit his future to Juventus, ending speculation over the midfielder s future at the club.

Pjanic joined Juve from fellow Serie A rivals Roma in 2016 and has won league and cup doubles in each of his two seasons in Turin.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international was the only central midfielder in Serie A with at least five goals and five assists last term.

Barcelona, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain were all rumoured to be interested in Pjanic, while Pep Guardiola denied reports Premier League champions Manchester City were keen on signing the player.

And Juve confirmed on Tuesday that the 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal that will keep him at the club until 2023.
