Neymar is ready to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, according to Le Parisien.
The Brazilian star s time in the French capital, which began with the still-holding world-record transfer from Barcelona in 2017, has been riddled with injuries and controversies, but most of all with speculations about his potential departure and return to Spain. Spanish media have particularly been adamant that Neymar was unhappy at the Parc des Princes and aware that he had made a mistake in leaving the Catalan club. They ve been foretelling his return to Camp Nou practically ever since, occasionally crediting Real Madrid with interest as well.
Their latest stories held to the theory that the hand of PSG, who are reluctant to let their arguably biggest star leave, would be weakened as the end of his contract in 2022 approaches, and therefore the French champions forced to consider a deal but it all stood on the foundation of Neymar s apparent desire to leave.
However, if the forward, who turns 28 next month, indeed signs a new contract, the hopes of Barcelona or any other potential suitor would be dealt a huge blow, possibly one they wouldn t recover from when in comes to taking Neymar away from Paris.
