The second round of the 2024 NBA Draft kicks off Thursday night with the No. 31 pick, held by the Toronto Raptors. With well-known names and unknown talents vying to be selected before the draft ends with the 58th pick, here are the prospects viewed as the top available players: 1. SG Johnny Furphy, Kansas Australian late bloomer lacks pure strength but has the traits to be an-off-the-bench shooter at 6-foot-9 while he grows into his frame at age 19. 2. PG Tyler Kolek, Marquette Not explosive enough to run by NBA on-ball defense but crafty with the vision to lead the second unit and dominate in pick-and-roll sets. 3. Kyle Filipowski, Duke Fundamentally sound with the touch as a shooter to be a mismatch problem. NBA teams fear he'll be in chase mode too often on defense. 4. SG Cam Christie, Minnesota Lead guard with room for growth at 18, he's more of a project than most shooting guards in this class but patience could be richly rewarded. 5. PF Bobi Klintman, Sweden More mobile than given credit for, Klintman has size (6-9, 212) and the range to space the floor. 6. SG Justin Edwards, Kentucky All the tools to take off in the right role, Edwards has a nearly 7-foot wingspan, giving him a foothold as a defensive stopper until his 3-point shot becomes more consistent. 7. Tyler Smith, G League Ignite Southpaw shoots it well and at age 19 has enough upside to earn a spot because of his potent finishing skills. 8. PG Juan Nunez, Spain From the Ricky Rubio mold of pass-first point guards with slick handles and creativity, Nunez lacks the mid-range game and jump shot to be more than a backup for now. 9. SF Kevin McCullar Jr., Kansas Competitive and experienced, McCullar isn't elite in any single area. His value is versatility, particularly consistent rebounding and defense for his 6-7, 212-pound frame. 10. SG Pelle Larsson, Arizona A gamer who makes winning basketball plays and decisions. Size and savvy are Larsson's calling cards, even if he didn't test exceptionally well or finish with ease against NBA bigs. –Field Level Media

Wout Weghorst is still revelling in the special feeling of scoring his first Manchester United goal at Old Trafford, having waited too long to break his duck at the Theatre of Dreams.
At the ninth attempt since his loan move from Burnley, the Netherlands international finally netted his first home goal in the commanding 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the Europa League.
That marked Weghorst s second strike in 15 appearances, though the 30-year-old s work rate has been widely praised despite his modest goal return.
Reacting quickly in the box to turn home after Scott McTominay s shot had been saved by Claudio Bravo, Weghorst s sheer relief was evident.
Yes, I think you could [see] it, he told United s official website. [It was a] great feeling and, of cour…
Mesut Ozil is adamant Germany are still one of the favourites to win Euro 2016 and stressed they do not fear hosts France.
The world champions have endured their fair share of difficulties since their successful 2014 World Cup, with a number of players retiring from international football, an unconvincing qualification campaign and plenty of injury problems.
Nevertheless, Ozil – who was included in Germany s provisional 27-man squad on Tuesday – remains optimistic his side can go far at the Euros.
I think we are favourites, or at least one of the favourites. That s why we go there of course to win the cup, Ozil told Sport360.
We know France at home are a very strong team with good players. We know it won t be easy to play against them but we also pl…
Romelu Lukaku has refused to rule out a return to Chelsea after confirming he has made up his mind on whether he will leave Everton before next season.
The striker, who hit 25 goals in 46 appearances for Everton despite the club having a disappointing campaign, has been linked with some of Europe s biggest clubs.
Lukaku s father Roger recently said he believes Bayern Munich would be a good fit for his son, but the 23-year-old would not be drawn on his decision.
There are a number of clubs that have shown an interest in signing me, Lukaku, who left Chelsea for Goodison Park on a permanent basis in 2014, told HLN.
I have already made a decision for myself, but I will keep it to myself at this stage.

Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam insists his feud with Wales attacker Gareth Bale is over ahead of the World Cup qualifier between the teams.
Tottenham star Bale was sidelined with ligament damage in May 2011 after a challenge with Adam, then at Blackpool, during an English Premier League clash.
And the row escalated after Adam caught the 23-year-old with a similarly late tackle during Tottenham s pre-season game against Liverpool prior to his move to Stoke.
But the Scot said the duo have put the past behind them, and does not expect any bad blood when they face off at Hampden Park.
There s no problem, Adam told the Daily Mail. I let him (Bale) score the last time, so things should be OK.
I never spoke to him. We did speak during the game when…
Former Lazio coach Edy Reja said he is considering offers from several Ligue 1 clubs.
The 66-year-old coach parted company with Lazio at the end of last season, having failed to secure a Champions League spot, but is now on the verge of moving to France.
Let s see, Reja told Lazio Style Radio. There is something there; I have received some offers.
The veteran coach offered to resign twice during last season s Serie A campaign but was persuaded to continue by president Claudio Lotito.
Reja then admitted that he was upset by the club s refusal to spend in the January transfer window but insists that while he did clash with Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare over the failure to strengthen the squad, he holds no ill feeling towards the pair.

Joshua Kimmich needs to listen to his body and decide whether he is physically and psychologically ready to return to action, according to Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick.
The 25-year-old has not featured for Bayern since November 7 when he suffered a right lateral meniscus injury against Borussia Dortmund.
He was not expected to play again until late January at the earliest after undergoing surgery but returned to light training earlier this month and was involved in a full session on Monday.
With Leon Goretzka joining Javi Martinez on the sidelines, Kimmich could return to action ahead of schedule in Wednesday s Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg.
Flick will let the versatile midfielder have the final say on his selection as Bayern look to extend th…
Maurizio Sarri has challenged his Juventus side to fight against the Champions League hangovers that threaten to derail their bid for a ninth consecutive Serie A title.
Juve have dropped points in four of their 15 league games this season, two of which came immediately after midweek Champions League fixtures.
They drew 1-1 with Lecce in October following a win over Lokomotiv Moscow and were held to a shock 2-2 home draw by Sassuolo this month after beating Atletico Madrid, before losing 3-1 to Lazio a week later.
Those results have left them trailing leaders Inter by two points and Sarri has demanded they do not suffer a similar fate against Udinese on Sunday after the 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen that concluded their Group D campaign in midweek.

Jason Gilchrist scored the only goal of the game as Burnley edged past League Two Accrington Stanley in a pre-season friendly.
The academy graduate was one of several half-time changes for Burnley and made an impact inside the final 20 minutes by coolly curling home after good work from Scott Arfield.
Gilchrist, who scored a hat-trick at Old Trafford in an FA Youth Cup win over Manchester United in 2012, made it two goals in as many games, his strike sealing Burnley s second friendly win in succession.
Sean Dyche s men thrashed Austrian outfit Grossklein 8-0 last Sunday, but the meeting with neighbours Accrington provided a sterner test for the Premier League newcomers.
Stanley s Josh Windass had the first effort of note in the third minute, bringing a sm…
Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini feels he and Mario Balotelli can form a strong partnership during Filippo Inzaghi s maiden season in charge.
Pazzini made the move to Milan from city rivals Inter in 2012 but endured a difficult campaign last time out as he suffered with injury and fell out of favour when Massimiliano Allegri was replaced by Clarence Seedorf in January.
Limited to just seven Serie A starts and two league goals, Pazzini struggled for form as Milan stuttered to an eighth-place finish.
With Seedorf s former Milan team-mate Inzaghi now at the helm, Pazzini believes he and Balotelli can prove the ideal combination up front.
Mario and I can work together fine. He likes to move around the area, I like to stay inside to finish. So we are complem…
Bundesliga leaders Hoffenheim may be without ex-Germany goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand for the next few games after he went off injured during their 2-0 win over Energie Cottbus on his club debut.
Hoffenheim took over from Hamburg at the top of the table on Saturday with goals by strikers Demba Ba and Boubacar Sanogo, but lost Hildebrand after 60 minutes with a pubic bone injury.
Hildebrand was making his debut having returned to Germany from Spanish side Valencia in January and this was the first time in 221 Bundesliga matches he has been forced to leave the field through injury.
Hoffenheim coach Ralph Rangnick says he will only know exactly how long his shot-stopper is out for once Hildebrand has a scan on Sunday.
It is a very painful injury and it will d…
